BIM Software Tip: How to Insert Circled Letters in Revit
I recently discovered that Revit does not support direct input of circled letters. While these characters exist in Word, copying and pasting them into Revit results in separated letters. To help others facing the same issue, I’d like to share a simple method that works well.
1. Go to Insert → Symbol → Font, then select Arial Unicode MS. In the Subset dropdown, choose Parenthesized Alphanumeric. Make sure the input is set to Unicode (hexadecimal). The character codes from 24B6 to 24CF correspond to uppercase circled letters, while codes from 24D0 to 24EA correspond to lowercase circled letters.
2. If you prefer a quicker solution, you can simply copy and paste the following circled letters:
Ⓐ Ⓑ Ⓒ Ⓓ Ⓔ Ⓕ Ⓖ Ⓗ Ⓘ Ⓙ Ⓚ Ⓛ Ⓜ Ⓝ Ⓞ Ⓟ Ⓠ Ⓡ Ⓢ Ⓣ Ⓤ Ⓥ Ⓦ Ⓧ Ⓨ Ⓩ
Note: When pasting these uppercase circled letters into some web pages, they may appear as empty boxes. To avoid this, either use the method described in step 1 or paste these symbols into Excel, where they will display correctly.
