How to Find Inclined Beams in Revit Drawings

BIM Software Tip: How to Locate Diagonal Beams When Drawing in Revit

To accurately position an inclined beam as shown in the illustration, start by identifying the face where the beam is situated based on the building’s internal volume and its elevation.

Next, create a roof and use the opening command to cut an opening on the plane that corresponds to the inclined beam. This helps to pinpoint the exact position of the beam’s endpoint.

Finally, drag the endpoint of the inclined beam and adjust it to the correct elevation to complete the placement.
