Meanwhile, many companies have recognized the significant benefits BIM offers and have begun investing in its development. Today, I would like to share some insights into the key characteristics of BIM.

BIM relies on 3D information technology to integrate the entire building life cycle, encompassing design, construction, and operation phases. It consolidates various internal data and information into a 3D model, enabling seamless information sharing. At every stage of construction, relevant stakeholders can easily access this data for efficient management, collaboration, and evaluation. The entire building life cycle revolves around a unified 3D information model platform, where construction teams can plan, review, and provide feedback at each phase.

This comprehensive lifecycle includes programming, conceptual design, architectural and environmental analysis, construction and logistics, documentation and instructions, fabrication, 4D/5D construction management, operation and maintenance, demolition, renovation, and more.

Since the advent of computers, their applications have gradually transformed human life. Numerous industries now leverage the powerful computing and processing capabilities of computers to boost work efficiency. For example, in PC gaming, computer technology has matured to support sophisticated 2D and 3D visualizations alongside user-friendly graphical interfaces. The growth of the Internet has further connected vast databases to the cloud, enabling users to operate games on shared cloud platforms.

Similarly, using computers’ computing power to assist engineers in complex planning and design has been a key focus since their invention. Compared to well-established technologies like PC gaming, current BIM technology not only links building databases through models but also holds significant potential for future development and more powerful applications.
