Revit Architecture is a BIM software developed by Autodesk. Beyond fulfilling basic BIM requirements, it facilitates data transmission and exchange with related software, making it a core component in Autodesk’s BIM workflow. Based on my personal experience, I’d like to share a learning guide for Revit Architecture, divided into three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
Beginner Course
This course focuses on building foundational concepts and essential skills in Revit Architecture. After completing it, students will be able to:
1. Understand the Revit Architecture user interface.
2. Prepare and execute learning projects.
3. Create and edit building components.
4. Utilize basic tools and functions.
5. Perform visual operations such as zooming and object selection.
6. Develop architectural drawings.
7. Extract engineering drawings and quantities from projects.
8. Add annotations to drawings.
Intermediate Course
This course strengthens skills in collaboration, data exchange, and animation production. Upon completion, students will be able to:
1. Use workspaces for multi-user collaboration.
2. Create and edit quantities and building components.
3. Set stage parameters for individual components.
4. Establish design options for selection.
5. Generate various types of data exchange files.
6. Produce static color renderings.
7. Create dynamic walkthroughs and animations.
Advanced Course
This course offers an in-depth exploration of Revit Architecture’s features, focusing on the creation, configuration, and application of components. After studying this level, trainees will be able to:
1. Master advanced functions of system components, including walls, floors, stairs, roofs, ceilings, slopes, and curtain walls.
2. Build custom external components for each category.
3. Create user-defined project parameters.
4. Follow settings and procedures for generating 2D construction drawings.
5. Assign and calculate quantities for component materials.
6. Integrate multiple project files and utilize worksets effectively.
7. Customize detailed project template settings.
8. Integrate and use Revit Architecture with Structure and MEP modules.
Today, I wanted to share these guidelines for learning Revit Architecture. These recommendations reflect my personal perspective, so feel free to adapt your learning path based on your needs and skill level. I hope this proves helpful to you.
