Thanks to its ability to significantly improve the inefficiencies of traditional construction methods, BIM technology has gradually attracted attention and is rapidly evolving into a fundamental competitive standard within the engineering sector. Even internationally, this adoption requires a short transitional period to achieve a favorable position. Considering China’s existing construction systems and engineering culture, it is particularly important to develop strategic plans that suit the current situation, in order to avoid counterproductive outcomes.
In recent years, the Chinese government has actively promoted and rooted BIM technology within the country. It is believed that BIM will soon establish itself as a new conceptual and technological trend in China’s construction industry, bringing fresh opportunities to the sector.
In conclusion, BIM trends have long been present in China. As early as the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, the government anticipated BIM’s impact on the future construction industry. Moreover, the rapid advancement of software and hardware technologies in recent years has accelerated the conditions necessary for BIM adoption. From central to local levels, introducing BIM concepts into actual engineering projects has become a top priority to enhance building productivity, creating an optimal environment for BIM’s continued development in China.
