CommVault Backup Automatically Restores DWG Files Unexpectedly

Question:

CommVault backup assumes that DWG files will be opened in a folder view upon creation in Windows, but it does not support opening them with a single click. This results in stub files and issues with restoring graphics commands.

Solution:

To prevent CommVault from accessing or opening DWG files, you need to disable the digital signature icon that overrides the AcSignOpt installation process in AutoCAD. Follow these steps:

1. Press and hold the WINDOWS key, then click to open the Run dialog.

2. Type ACSIGNOPT into the Run window and click OK.

3. In the window that appears, uncheck the option labeled “Verify digital signature and display dedicated icon.”

4. Click OK to apply the changes.
