The primary software used in BIM platforms is Revit, with each new version introducing additional features over its predecessor. Notably, there is a significant difference in functionality between the 2013 and 2014 versions compared to the 2012 version. To help you quickly familiarize yourself with these new features for your future projects, this document serves as a useful reference.
Below is the method for using the 2014 view template:
1. Start by creating a new project or template. Open the Project Browser, then click on Floor Plan 1 – Mechanical. Right-click on View Template, select Mechanical Plan, and edit the relevant parameters. For example, you can set the filter pipeline color to complete the configuration. Note that the view template property is set to None by default, which means the scale, detail level, and view style remain editable.
Simply confirm to complete this step.
2. Next, create a new elevation view and switch back to the floor plan. If the current view template property is set to the default mechanical plan, the pipelines in the plan will display colors; however, properties like scale will be locked and cannot be modified. To make these adjustments, change the view template setting to None in the properties bar, allowing you to edit these attributes freely.
Please be cautious when adding floor plans to ensure the correct settings are applied.
