Question:
When there is no detailed table data for an object within the detailed table, and you want to replace it with other content accompanied by a question mark icon, a question mark will appear in the detailed table cell. How can you perform this operation and achieve the desired result in AutoCAD MEP or AutoCAD Architecture?
Solution:
The display of data formats is controlled by text type settings based on object properties. Typically, the default format used for detailed table text is “Standard“. However, you should verify which data format styles are active during your specific use case.
- Open the Style Manager.
- Select the Document Object.
- Choose the desired Property Data Format.
- Select the format you want to edit (e.g., Standard).
- Navigate to the Format tab.
- Modify the setting for Undefined values to display a dash (“-“) or any other preferred placeholder.
- Click OK to save the changes.
