Question:
When selecting the default configuration in AutoCAD options, the setting disappears from the program.
Resolution Steps:
If you have access to another computer with AutoCAD installed, you can export the default profile from that machine. Then, copy the resulting .ARG file to your current computer and import it. The export and import options are located under the Profiles tab within the Options menu of AutoCAD.
If another computer is not available, you can restore the default profile by resetting AutoCAD to its default settings.
For certain versions of AutoCAD vertical products, the default configurations may be lost due to missing content packs. To reinstall these content packs, navigate to Programs and Features (or Add or Remove Programs on Windows XP), then double-click AutoCAD Change/Modify. When the setup window opens, select the option to add or remove features.
As a last resort, if the above methods do not resolve the issue, uninstall and then reinstall AutoCAD to repair and restore the default configuration.
