Question:
When starting AutoCAD, you may encounter the following error:
Ad32lw.exe has stopped working
Solution:
You need to add Ad32lw.exe as an exception to Windows Data Execution Prevention (DEP), as well as to any firewalls, antivirus, antispyware, or file scanning programs you have installed.
Follow these steps:
1. Click the Windows Start button.
2. Right-click on Computer (or This PC), then select Properties.
3. Click on Advanced system settings on the left side.
4. In the System Properties window, click the Advanced tab.
5. Under the Performance section, click Settings.
6. Select the Data Execution Prevention tab.
7. Choose the option to Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
8. Click Add.
9. Browse to the AutoCAD installation folder, for example:
C:Program FilesACAD 2015
10. Select Ad32lw.exe and click Open.
11. Click Apply and then OK to close the Performance Options.
12. Click Apply and OK again to close System Properties.
13. Restart your computer to apply the changes.
