Design Review: Default DWF Zoom Focuses on Drawing Corner

BIM Software Tip: Default DWF Display Zooms to the Corner in Design Review

Question:

When viewing one or more sheets in a DWF file, the display automatically zooms into the corner of the drawing. If you zoom out to see the entire drawing and then click the Home button or close the file, the view zooms back in again.

This happens because the DWF is scaled to the layout tab for printing purposes.

Answer:

To fix this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Open the DWG file.
  2. Click the tab that you want to print to DWF, which will enlarge the layout.
  3. Double-click the mouse wheel to zoom in or out.
  4. Type Z (for Zoom) and press Enter.
  5. Type E (for Extents) and press Enter.
  6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 for each layout tab you want to print and zoom.
  7. Print a new DWF file.
