Autodesk Software Crashes During Update in New Version

BIM Software Tip: If the software crashes when updating to a new version of Autodesk, here’s what you need to know.

Issue:

After installing a new version of Autodesk® and applying the Manager, the program crashes during the update process.

Cause:

This is usually due to a damaged installation.

Solution:

1. Uninstall the Application Manager via Control Panel > Programs and Features on Windows.

2. Install an earlier version of the Application Manager. If needed, you can download a previous version from the internet.

3. Restart the program, which should then update automatically.

Alternative:

You can also restore your Windows system to a previous state using Control Panel > Restore.
