Revit: Why Two Identical Handrails Appear Differently

BIM Software Tip: Revit – Why Two Handrails of the Same Type May Appear Differently

Issue: When placing two handrails of the same type in a graphic, the second one may display differently from the first.

This happens because one handrail is placed on the stair treads. As a result, the flat top vertical railing and the upper handrail are not shown as part of the main staircase body. Specifically, the vertical railing does not display in this configuration.

Solution: To fix this, create a new handrail type and adjust the spacing between the railings. Set this distance to match the spacing of the vertical railings used in the other handrail type, ensuring consistent display.
