BIM Software Tip: Revit’s Approach to Steel Bar Statistics and Cutting
Purpose: By sharing parameters, a comprehensive steel bar information database is created for the project. This database enables data analysis that guides steel bar cutting and warehouse management, helping to minimize steel bar waste.
Method: According to the project requirements, a shared parameter beam family is created. Formulas are edited within detailed schedules to summarize the total quantity of each steel bar type and extract quantities by length. By building this database and adding shared parameters to track progress, it becomes possible to filter the steel bar quantities needed for a specific model within a given timeframe.
Workload: Input relevant drawing data into the family based on construction drawings, allowing for easy reuse in future projects.
