BIM Software Tip: Summary of Integration Issues Between PW and Revit (Part 1)
1. Verify if the user shown in the dialog box has permission to access the central file.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
1. Lack of file permissions:
If permissions are missing, assign the appropriate access rights.
2. Issues with the mapped drive:
Restart the system and try reopening the file.
Problem 2: File Synchronization Center Issues
1. When synchronizing, a prompt appears asking to close and continue. This causes Revit to crash with a fatal error, preventing synchronization.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
1) Sudden network interruptions causing errors:
Restore the file to the latest version and continue designing based on it. Note that some work may be lost. This also addresses problems originating from Revit itself.
2) Unexpected stoppage of the integrated server:
This can lead to file inconsistencies. Restoring to the latest version and continuing design may result in loss of some work.
3) Opening a file copied from the R drive (which is an older version than the server version):
This action is incorrect and should be avoided.
Problem 3: Locked by
This popup appears during synchronization, often triggered by checking out the central file or related files in PW. It may occur frequently without clear cause.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
1. Too many users working on the same central file:
Limit the number of users editing a central file simultaneously. Ideally, use reference mode whenever possible.
2. Synchronization interval set too short:
Increase the synchronization interval appropriately to reduce conflicts.
