BIM Software Tip: Summary of Integration Issues Between ProjectWise and Revit (Part 3)
Issue 1: Drive Letter Conflict
Problem: The R drive is occupied, preventing Revit from opening files on ProjectWise. Restarting the system or manually changing the drive letter may resolve this.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
1. The R drive letter is already assigned to a network or physical hard drive.
Solution: Release the R drive letter and restart your computer.
2. Integration issue between ProjectWise and Revit.
Explanation: After opening a Revit file from ProjectWise and closing it, the R drive letter may remain occupied. Attempting to reopen the file results in an error message, requiring a system restart.
Issue 2: Inconsistencies Between Local and Central Models
Problem: When synchronizing central files, users receive warning messages.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
1. Errors caused by incorrect operations.
Example: Opening a local central file and continuing after encountering an error, such as while adding a workspace, triggers an error message. This operation is not permitted.
2. Network or server issues.
Solution: Clear the local copy first, then try opening and saving the file as a new central file. If this fails, restore to the previous version and base your design on that.
Issue 3: Unknown Error During Synchronization
Problem: When users synchronize central files, an error prompt appears.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
1. The file does not exist.
Explanation: The drive letter may be occupied, or there is a problem with the mapped cloud drive. Restart the system and try opening the file again.
