BIM Software Tip: Summary of Integration Issues Between PW and Revit
Issue 1: Unsupported Files or Unable to Open
Possible Causes and Solutions:
1. Trying to open a Revit file created in a higher version using a lower version of Revit.
An error message will appear if you attempt to open a file from a newer Revit version with an older one. Ensure you open the file with the appropriate Revit version.
Issue 2: Opening the File in Another Application
When a user is synchronizing, the following prompt appears, preventing other users from synchronizing as well.
The administrator discovered an unchecked _user.dat file related to this prompt. However, even after checking it in, the synchronization center continues to display the prompt.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
This issue could not be reproduced, and the solution remains unknown.
Issue 3: File Is Locked
Possible Causes and Solutions:
1. Too many users working simultaneously on the same central file.
Limit the number of users accessing the central file concurrently. If possible, use reference mode to minimize conflicts.
2. Synchronization update intervals are set too short.
Adjust the synchronization interval to allow more time between updates.
