BIM Software Tip: How to Fix Slope Deformation Issues in Revit
Below is the plan view of a ramp, which appears to be free of any problems:
However, in reality, the ramp looks like this. Such a design is impractical for pedestrians or vehicles, making it unsuitable for use.
The issue arises because, despite setting the correct slope, the slope boundary is picked directly when drawing. For longer slopes, the software defaults to generating the distorted shape shown above.
To resolve this, divide the long slope into multiple sections. Make sure to set the top and bottom offsets properly at the junctions of each slope segment to ensure a smooth and accurate ramp.
