Creating a Detailed Cable Tray Schedule in Revit

After completing your project in Revit, you can generate a detailed quantity schedule for analysis. This guide will walk you through creating a comprehensive cable tray schedule for electromechanical projects.

1. At the initial stage of the project, name the cable tray as shown in the first screenshot and configure its accessories accordingly, as demonstrated in the second screenshot.

2. To add a cable tray schedule, go to the View tab, then select Schedules > Schedule/Quantities, as illustrated below.

3. In the New Schedule dialog box, choose the Cable Tray category.

4. Add the Type parameter to the schedule fields, as shown in the image. Similarly, include additional fields such as Size and Length.

5. Edit the Sorting/Grouping settings to organize the schedule as depicted in the diagram.

6. Under the Formatting tab, check the box for Length to calculate the total length. Confirm your settings to generate the detailed cable tray schedule, as seen in the example.

7. To adjust the unit format for the length, click any cell in the length column, then select Set Unit Format and configure it as shown in the image.

8. The final detailed cable tray schedule will appear as illustrated below.
