Autodesk Revit is a commonly used BIM software in China. It has always been known for its ease of use and simple operation, but these are not the only reasons for its widespread adoption. Today, I will share with you the key reasons for using Revit software.
Reason 1: One of the main reasons to choose Autodesk Revit as the BIM modeling tool is its intuitive control interface, which is user-friendly and accessible to ordinary users. When paired with Navisworks, another Autodesk product, the user experience is seamless due to the similar system operations. This eliminates the need to adapt to different software interfaces. Additionally, Revit offers high compatibility, allowing direct conversion to the NWC file format with minimal errors.
Reason 2: Autodesk Revit boasts a large online database of expandable components, making model construction highly convenient. Only specialized project components require custom modeling. Furthermore, users can add custom parameter properties to components, providing a flexible and advanced solution to meet diverse project needs.
Reason 3: Revit includes a detailed schedule function that can be customized to suit user requirements. In this study, additional parameter information for certain facilities and equipment was added via component attributes using the detailed schedule feature. When generating equipment schedules, all parameter data can be displayed together in the table. The BIM equipment data can then be exported directly from the schedule to a database for further use.
Reason 4: Revit supports multiple file format conversions and exports, including ODBC, IFC, DGN, DWG, gbXML, and more.
Regarding the building maintenance system, the software tools used for system development include Microsoft Visual Studio combined with the ASP.NET programming language, both developed by Microsoft. The maintenance system described in this study was built using these technologies.
