The direction of a staircase path depends on the current floor plan view. If the view corresponds to the starting floor of the staircase, the path direction is upward.

Conversely, if the view is set to the staircase’s ending floor, the path direction will be downward.

That said, if you want the staircase to display as downward in the starting floor plan, you can adjust the local staircase direction by modifying the floor plan area settings.
