BIM Software Tip: Creating a Revit Irregular Section Diagonal Wall
This irregular wall can be divided into three main parts.
1. Start by drawing two regular walls based on the corresponding floor plan. Then, edit the contour shapes of these walls in section view to match the desired profile. Ensure the top contour closely aligns with the underside of the roof.
2. Next, focus on the middle wall. Its profile is stepped, so create it using an in-place family. Set the family category to “Wall,” edit the profile in section, and generate a solid extrusion. Then, apply a void extrusion to carve out the required shape.
3. For the standard wall sections, windows can be inserted directly. However, since the upper and lower windows do not align vertically with the reference plane, use two void extrusions to create the openings. Finally, place non-wall-based windows in the corresponding positions to achieve the desired window style.
4. To finish, replace the overlapping edge lines at the intersections of the three walls with invisible lines using the linework tool. This completes the construction of the irregular wall, as illustrated in the image below.
