01. Base Overview
The “Shouxian Valley · Smart Health Complex” bidding proposal by LEAP Greentown Lip covers a total construction area of 59,685.28 square meters with a plot ratio of 2.50. The project aims to establish a multifunctional office headquarters for the renowned company “Shouxian Valley Pharmaceutical.” Positioned as a modernist office and medical complex, it integrates commercial office and healthcare functions into a cohesive whole. This approach enhances the project’s appeal and fosters development in the surrounding district.

The project site covers 14,066.39 square meters and is located in Dongxin Unit, Gongshu District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It borders Zhongzhuge Road to the east, Tingsheng Lane to the north, Dongxin River to the west, and Changbang River to the south. Adjacent to the west is the Hangzhou Bank Financial Building, while residential complexes and kindergartens lie to the north. The Desheng Expressway runs approximately 45 meters south of the site. Riverside landscape greenway infrastructure is complete, providing rich natural resources. The site is relatively flat, with the northern Tingsheng Lane sloping from east (lower) to west (higher), and notable elevation differences on the northwest perimeter.

02. Design Concept
The above-ground design features two 11-story towers serving distinct functions: healthcare and corporate office. After careful consideration, LEAP’s design team established the core concept of creating an open “urban green valley” supported by four key principles:
- 1. Minimize building impact on the northern residential area by setting the structures back toward the northeast corner.
- 2. Maximize use of riverside landscape resources to the south and west.
- 3. Establish a well-organized circulation network integrating hospital, commercial, office, and logistics functions.
- 4. Utilize two 50-meter high-rise buildings as the primary structures, adapting to the site’s topography.

03. Design Showcase: Urban Green Valley

This design creates a distinctive landmark visible from the elevated main road while integrating landscape elements from the southwest into the site for uninterrupted views. The layout clearly separates medical and corporate office functions, breaks the closed street-level façade, and transforms the podium volume into the main structure.

The architecture incorporates setbacks on the east and west sides, forming three-dimensional green spaces. Curved surfaces respond to the elegant “gu” character in the Shouxian Valley brand identity.

An organic “valley” is formed between the two main buildings, enriched with lush plantings to simulate a natural green valley experience. The central building enclosure creates a three-dimensional shared courtyard, supplemented by sunken courtyards that enhance spatial flow.

The medical wellness and corporate headquarters function independently with clear circulation paths, avoiding interference. The naturally enclosed building forms a shared atrium that serves as a place for rest, meetings, and socializing.

- The medical and wellness building is situated on the northwest side of the site. The first two floors house physical examination centers, supporting external health check services and wellness medical facilities.
- The second floor features a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) museum, acupuncture, moxibustion, and massage areas, interacting with the southern corporate headquarters, product exhibition center, and TCM museum.
- The third floor contains a high-end medical beauty center, with a dental department on the west side and light medical beauty consultation rooms on the east, adaptable to different needs.
- Floors four through nine serve as a health center, with wards designed as single, double, or multifunctional suites.
- The tenth and eleventh floors provide talent housing apartments, allowing flexibility for future operational scaling.

To reduce noise from the nearby elevated road, a double-skin façade is implemented. The outer layer features tilted white perforated aluminum panels, which mitigate traffic noise and reduce light pollution from glass curtain walls. This white façade reflects the elegance of Shouxian Valley. At night, interior lighting shines through the glass and perforated panels, creating a captivating display visible for nearly 12 seconds from passing vehicles.

The building’s primary materials include white perforated aluminum panels, blue glass, and wooden triangular support frames, blending soft, light, and bright colors. The secondary skin is operable, promoting a comfortable and healthy office environment and projecting a positive, green corporate identity throughout the space.

The design enriches outdoor terrace spaces in the high-rise buildings, enhancing the natural experience in office areas. By utilizing setbacks and rooftop spaces, the design provides various amenities, including aerial sports fields and sunlit leisure bars, fostering diverse opportunities for employee interaction.
