Located in the vibrant city of Rajkot, this project serves as the residence of the architect and his family. Its design embodies the architect’s innovative and exploratory mindset, focusing on simplicity and minimalism to create a comfortable living environment.

The entrance welcomes visitors with unique features such as ramps and pebble water elements, inviting them into a captivating spatial experience. The residence integrates modern and eco-friendly design principles. The layout encourages fluid movement throughout the space, with subtle floor height variations and flower beds serving as functional dividers that provide privacy. Ramps connect different areas seamlessly, while the interplay of spatial volumes ensures uninterrupted visual connections across multiple levels, creating an engaging atmosphere.
Most private rooms feature large openings facing east, accented by lush green plants adorning balconies and terraces.

Light wells are incorporated throughout the design to ensure all areas benefit from ample sunlight and cross ventilation. Balcony sunshade features, like pergolas, block harsh sunlight while creating a charming visual effect. On the south side facing the road, a red pottery brick screen wall filters intense sunlight, maintains privacy, and allows ventilation. These patterned brick blocks, interspersed with greenery, establish a distinctive identity within the neighborhood.

The interior design features soft materials such as clay bricks and concrete, complemented by warm wooden accents to foster a harmonious and tranquil atmosphere. Textured exposed concrete ceilings add depth to the space. Sustainability is a key focus throughout the project, emphasizing reduce, reuse, and recycle principles.
The flooring is crafted from terrazzo made with recycled stone chips. Many walls are left exposed to minimize waste, while plastered surfaces are finished with paint and oxides that eliminate the need for repainting. Sunshade elements enhance energy efficiency, and most furniture is built-in to reduce material waste. Instead of stone, brick frames are used for doors and windows, and recycled wood is employed for blinds and other furnishings, further reflecting the commitment to sustainable design.
The bathroom features a distinctive yellow terrazzo that adds character while adhering to waste reduction principles. Solar panels installed on the roof contribute to improved energy efficiency.

Overall, the residence embraces a functional layout that prioritizes spatial quality. The well-planned hierarchy balances privacy and social interaction, while addressing climate considerations, sustainable practices, and material choices. This thoughtful design enhances comfort, energy efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
