Located within the historic campus, this newly constructed library is designed to blend seamlessly into its surroundings with a calm, simple, and open architectural style. It aims to serve as a cultural hub that harmoniously integrates learning, research, knowledge innovation, and leisure experiences for the campus community.

On the west side of the first floor, facing Slope Park, a gentle green slope extends from the Linzhong Ark building, continuing the park’s landscape. This grassy platform offers students a tranquil space for resting, reading, and various activities. The building itself presents a simple form, resembling an ark gently suspended on the hillside.

The facade of the building features a digitally modular design, with the main GRC curtain wall composed of four standard-sized units. Through software analysis of window placement and indoor wind pressure, the facade achieves an “interesting” and “logical” aesthetic. Each GRC prefabricated panel measures 4.6m by 1.5m. The integrated design of panels, exterior windows, insulation, and waterproofing facilitates rapid exterior wall assembly.
The vertical texture of the facade casts varying shadows depending on the time of day and viewing angle, complementing the glass curtain wall and rust-effect panels with rich detail. The library’s name is embedded into the building using transparent concrete technology, blending seamlessly with the architecture during the day and creating a unique illuminated effect at night.

The design of the Shushan Wenlin Space is inspired by the saying, “Shushan has roads and diligent paths.” At its core is an atrium flanked by two green courtyards, with reading areas arranged around these open spaces to create a “Wenlin” environment that blends natural landscape with interior space.

The stepped reading area within the atrium integrates bookshelves with walls and seating steps, creating a multifunctional space for leisure reading and interaction. Multiple continuous straight staircases connect the floors, guiding visitors on a learning journey from the ground floor to the top. The skylight features frosted glass and sunshade louvers that diffuse direct sunlight into soft, comfortable illumination, fostering a pleasant reading atmosphere.
