Established in 2015, EW CLUB is the largest motorcycle club organization in the country. When SN-A Chaoran Architecture first took on this project, their goal was to design a unique space that reflects the brand culture and spirit of locomotive life. They aimed to blend coffee culture with mechanical dynamics, emphasizing heavy metal themes such as locomotives, maintenance, and customization. This approach breathes life into the architectural space, allowing visitors to experience the essence of machinery and the vitality of the environment.

This project is situated in Shunde, Foshan, close to an industrial zone along the highway. Its strategic location offers easy access from all directions. The spacious site ensures operations do not disturb nearby residents.

Machine | Metaphor
A metaphor uses one thing to symbolically represent another. Modern poetry, in particular, breaks conventional word associations to link seemingly unrelated concepts. Inspired by this, the building’s exterior facade incorporates design elements taken from Kawasaki motorcycles, transforming them into a maintenance structure for the facade. The overall form is dissected and reassembled to create a dynamic interplay between virtual and real structural elements.

People and Vehicles | Flow
The interior layout features two distinct circulation paths: one for vehicles and one for pedestrians. This creates an island-shaped display area surrounded by radial traffic lanes. The circulation connects various entrances and exits, linking spaces such as the exhibition hall, coffee shop, whiskey bar, motorcycle detailing, and horsepower testing room, creating a seamless flow throughout.

Space | Communication
The design incorporates hollow spaces that encourage visual connection between the upper and lower public levels. The spatial forms are abstracted into linear structures that convey movement, speed, and clarity throughout the environment.

Diversity | Space
The locomotive exhibition hall offers a variety of services including locomotive displays, after-sales support, a popular coffee spot, a whiskey club, temporary art exhibitions, VIP private rooms, and more. Throughout these diverse functions, the design maintains a cultural connection rooted in locomotive street culture, establishing a harmonious relationship among people, vehicles, and the spaces they inhabit.

Human | Motorcycle | Physical Platform
On the road, motorcycles serve as transportation, poetically linking point A to B. Within the motorcycle club space, however, the community fosters symbiotic relationships—between people, between people and motorcycles, and between people and the space itself. These connections are cultivated through shared activities, coffee gatherings, friendships, experiences, and online interactions. The spatial design physically manifests these relationships, providing a tangible framework for connection.
