Yaojia Wangpu High-End Homestay Hotel is situated in Fanhua Village, Pogong Town, Anshun City, Guizhou Province. Nestled within a natural karst landscape, the area is renowned for its stunning mountains, rivers, steep terrain, and misty clouds. Perched atop a mountain and hanging from a cliff, the hotel offers breathtaking views of the valley and clouds below. Notably, it boasts two spectacular sights: the Dripping Water Beach Waterfall and the Baling River Bridge.
The Wangpu project focuses on renovating and upgrading the original site by preserving the main building framework while redesigning the space, facade, and landscape. By maximizing the site’s unique location, the design seamlessly integrates architecture with the natural surroundings, creating a harmonious blend of humanity and nature.

Exploring the Site | Location
The project is located in Kengbian Village, Baishui Town, within the Anshun Huangguoshu Tourist Area, specifically at Cat Rock in the third group of Ketian. Positioned at the edge of a cliff at 1,200 meters elevation, it overlooks the Dripping Water Waterfall and the Balinghe Bridge — a large-span steel truss suspension bridge regarded as the first of its kind in China and sixth worldwide.

Bridging Old and New | Strategy
The original building was a self-built three-story structure covering 987.4 square meters. To meet the requirements of a homestay hotel, the spatial layout and facade needed redesigning. Considering project feasibility and budget, the design retains the main framework, upgrading and transforming the spatial form and facade only.
Additionally, the landscape design preserves the original terrain and landforms, incorporating infinity pools and camping bases to enhance the resort experience. This approach offers multi-dimensional landscape views and improved functionality.

Yaojia Wangpu High-End Homestay Hotel features 12 standard guest rooms, each uniquely oriented and positioned to provide independent views and spatial experiences. The rooftop terrace serves as a gathering space for vacations and doubles as a viewing platform.
The hotel’s infinity pool is suspended over the valley, with a height difference exceeding 100 meters. This thrilling swimming experience, coupled with spectacular views of the valley and waterfall, has become an iconic symbol of the Yaojia Waterfall project.

The facade is predominantly white, contrasting beautifully with the lush mountains and warm sunsets, achieving a harmonious unity of culture and nature. Large floor-to-ceiling glass panels enhance natural lighting and ventilation while expanding the scenic views from inside the hotel. The vivid blue pool adds a striking visual contrast to the white facade.

The pool’s base is elevated to follow the mountain terrain, crawling along the cliff’s edge with some sections overhanging the valley, adding a playful and daring touch to the building’s facade.

Design Style | Interior
The ground floor lobby integrates multiple functions including a coffee bar, landscape restaurant, and pool bar, all adaptable to different operating hours and purposes. The interior color palette is designed to blend naturally with the building’s exterior, minimizing the visual impact of floor-to-ceiling glass.
Local natural fossil stone slabs adorn most surfaces, enhancing the rugged mountain atmosphere and allowing guests to visually and tactilely connect with the local environment.

Harmony of Culture and Nature | Landscape Design
The building’s light and poetic design concept complements the expansive karst landscape, and the landscape design further integrates the architecture with the surrounding terrain.
Stone walls, bamboo groves, and the entrance partially block the view between the waterfall homestay and the national highway, creating a sense of privacy. The first courtyard welcomes guests with endless karst mountain views, though the entire homestay panorama is not immediately visible.
Descending the stairs through the landscaped terrain, views gradually open up, revealing the infinity pool seamlessly blending with the distant scenery, creating a stunning visual impact. The landscape design continues the architectural style by combining minimalism with organic natural elements.
