BIM, commonly known as Building Information Modeling in China, is a digital approach that uses relevant construction project data to create a virtual 3D model. This model reflects the actual state of the project and offers features such as visualization, simulation, optimization, and detailed graphical representation.

Virtual Reality (VR) technology, also known as Lingjing technology, emerged in the 20th century as an innovative field combining computer science, electronics, and simulation techniques. VR creates an immersive environment that engages multiple senses—including visual, auditory, olfactory, and gustatory—by simulating virtual spaces.
BIM Technology Combined with VR
While BIM offers strong visual capabilities, it primarily serves professionals who interpret detailed drawings and models and is not easily accessible to non-experts. Integrating BIM with VR technology creates an intuitive, immersive simulation environment, enabling stakeholders—such as building owners—to explore any space within a building more clearly and interactively.
This fusion addresses the limitations of both technologies. By transferring building data and models from the BIM platform to the VR system, a realistic virtual environment is generated. Users can then identify design flaws or omissions in real time, provide immediate feedback to designers, and facilitate timely revisions, significantly enhancing the overall construction process efficiency.
