Several large-scale projects, such as the Tianjin 117 Building and China Zun, have actively implemented BIM technology. As BIM technology continues to advance, BIM-based information management systems are becoming increasingly comprehensive, accommodating more extensive data. Below, the author highlights 20 of the most representative BIM application cases from recent years, detailing how BIM technology has been applied at various project stages.
Karot Hydropower Station, Pakistan (Design Phase)
BIM applications included managing field geological data, geotechnical engineering numerical data, structural calculations, and engineering visual simulations.
2. China Zun Building (Implementation Phase)
BIM was used for comprehensive model coordination, collision detection, engineering survey data management, progress simulation, construction planning assistance, process simulation, and quantity tracking.
3. Chongqing Raffles City (Implementation Phase)
Applications involved detailed construction drawing design, building performance analysis, complex construction plan simulations, progress assessment and control, and integrating BIM with aerial photography for overall layout.
Z14 Commercial and Financial Project, Beijing CBD Core Area (Various Stages)
BIM facilitated multi-disciplinary model coordination and review, 3D laser scanning, VR-assisted detailed design, material management, construction plan simulations, site management, quantity statistics, quality and safety management, and drawing management.
Harbin Railway Station Renovation Project (Implementation Phase)
Key BIM applications included design change tracking, pipeline collision detection and layout, detailed drawings, visual presentations, 4D construction simulations, site layout planning, 5D cost control, and green construction management.
6. Qingdao Citizen Fitness Center – Sports Stadium Project (Implementation Phase)
BIM was applied for progress tracking, material management, safety analysis, emergency evacuation planning, detailed node modeling, curtain wall applications, and interior decoration planning.
7. Wanda Plaza Project, Fuxin City, Liaoning Province (Implementation Phase)
BIM supported drawing review, 3D site layout, comprehensive roof pipeline layout, controlled material requisition, financial resource analysis, and quality and safety management.

BIM was used for collision detection and optimization, quality control, material management, schedule tracking, and safety management.
10. Changsha Binjiang Financial Building (Implementation Phase)
