1. Autodesk Revit Series
With a vast user base built on AutoCAD, Autodesk’s Revit series holds a significant market share. Its interface resembles AutoCAD, making it user-friendly and easy for designers to master. Additionally, a large third-party database supports the software, providing significant resource advantages.
2. Bentley MicroStation Series
Bentley’s MicroStation excels in areas such as water conservancy, road and bridge engineering, and municipal projects. Known for its precision and lightweight performance, it handles complex spatial modeling efficiently. It offers a wide range of modeling tools for architecture, mechanical and electrical engineering, and site planning. However, its object library is limited, and it has fewer supporting applications.
3. Nemetschek ArchiCAD
As one of the earliest 3D modeling solutions, Germany-based Nemetschek’s ArchiCAD is highly regarded in the construction industry. It boasts a rich object library and numerous external plugins, enabling rapid generation of drawings and parameter statistics. It is especially convenient for design presentations and rendering.
4. Dassault Systèmes CATIA Series
CATIA software is widely used in high-precision industries such as aerospace, automotive, and mechanical electronics. It offers outstanding capabilities for handling complex shapes and large components, particularly for modeling, visualization, and information management. The DigitalProject software, developed on the CATIA platform, is effectively applied in construction engineering.
5. Tekla Structures
Developed by Finnish company Tekla, this software is popular in bridge engineering, especially for steel structure detailing, construction, and manufacturing. It includes powerful features along with structural analysis tools that allow real-time checking and evaluation of designs. However, its interface and operation methods can reduce user efficiency.
