Bentley offers a wide range of software, but not all of them are designed for 3D modeling. Currently, the three main 3D modeling applications recognized are Descartes, Pointools, and ContextCapture. Let’s explore each of them in more detail:

1. Descartes: 3D Image Processing Software
Descartes is a robust application designed to integrate and process real-world modeling data, including models, point clouds, scalable terrain data, and raster images. It is widely used in information modeling workflows to handle complex datasets efficiently.
2. Pointools: Point Cloud Data Processing Software
Bentley Pointools offers a comprehensive set of tools for editing and managing point clouds. It enables users to create high-quality point cloud deliverables, making it ideal for handling point cloud data across various infrastructure projects.
3. ContextCapture (CC): Real-Time 3D Modeling Software
ContextCapture automatically generates detailed, photorealistic 3D models from simple photographs and/or point cloud data.
Its high compatibility allows for precise and seamless reconstruction of objects and datasets captured from both ground and aerial sources, covering scales from centimeters to kilometers. Provided the input photos have sufficient resolution and accuracy, ContextCapture can produce 3D models with incredibly fine detail.
