Fully integrated with MicroStation’s modeling and visualization capabilities, it is widely used for designing and modeling construction projects such as roads, tunnels, railways, pipe galleries, and vertical pipelines. Openroads Designer is a leading platform in the roads and bridges domain and a core modeling tool in civil engineering.
2. PowerCivil for Country Series: This software represents the previous generation of Openroads Designer and offers similar functionalities. Although its support for real-world models is less advanced and it features a V8i-style interface, PowerCivil remains essential for many current engineering projects. It is a country-customized version of PowerInRoads that incorporates specific design standards tailored to individual nations.
3. Openroads Concept Station: Built on Openroads technology, both Openroads Designer and Concept Station focus on rapid modeling solutions during early planning phases. They enable quick alignment of interactive satellite imagery with terrain models, support importing point cloud data, geographic information, and real-world models. Users can create and modify road and bridge conceptual models in real-time and seamlessly export them to downstream software for rendering.
4. OpenBridge Modeler: Specialized in bridge design modeling, this software uses route and related data from Openroads Designer. It supports parametric bridge modeling based on mileage and elevation, offers expandable standard libraries for bridge components and ancillary facilities, and allows direct import of models into analysis tools within the platform. OpenBridge Modeler incorporates all MicroStation functionalities.
5. ProStructures: A detailed design software mainly used during the construction drawing phase, ProStructures includes two key modules: the reinforced concrete module “Concrete” and the steel structure module “ProSteel.” It supports parametric modeling, structural detail drawings, engineering quantity calculations, and complies with multiple international standards.
6. gINT: Targeted at geotechnical and geological applications, gINT supports importing various survey data, generating detailed reports, and managing related materials efficiently.
7. Descartes: Primarily used for processing raster images, point cloud data, terrain models, and real-world models. Descartes has been integrated into PowerCivil and can be incorporated into MicroStation Connect Edition.
8. ContextCapture: A powerful reality modeling software that creates 3D real-world models from drone or other imaging device photos. It supports GPS data integration, point cloud import and generation, and allows direct use of models as scene environments. Additionally, it includes features like distance measurement and earthwork calculation within the real-world models.
9. LumenRT: Designed for post-production visualization, LumenRT enables easy import of models from modeling platforms, setting up animation paths, and rendering images. It also supports creating scene elements such as lighting, seasonal effects, materials, and flora and fauna.
10. GenerativeComponents: A parametric modeling tool for visual programming of complex, irregular structures. Integrated into AECOsim Building Designer, it offers functionality similar to Autodesk’s Dynamo.
11. Bentley Navigator Connect Edition: This software facilitates model browsing and pre-review, allowing users to review, annotate, detect collisions, and produce progress simulation animations. It supports multi-platform browsing on both PC and mobile devices.
12. RM Bridge: A bridge structure analysis tool that supports multiple upper cross sections, multiple load cases, finite element analysis, and analysis of large bridges such as cable-stayed and suspension bridges. It generates analysis reports and allows one-click import of bridge models within the platform.
