There are two main ways to achieve information sharing in REVIT: internal sharing within the software and sharing with other software.
Firstly, work sharing in REVIT allows multiple team members from different disciplines to simultaneously work on various sub-projects within the same project model. In many cases, dividing the REVIT project into multiple modules using worksets facilitates collaboration and improves efficiency. The process is as follows:

(1) Enable work sharing and create worksets.
(2) Complete the model creation and save it as the central model, then distribute it to each workgroup.
(3) Each workgroup saves a local copy, selects a workset in the “Worksets” dialog box, and marks “Yes” in the “Editable” column. This grants the assigned member the right to use and edit that workset.
(4) Open and edit the local copy.
(5) Synchronize with the central file to update the central model. When a new workset is created in the local copy of the central model, other team members can view and borrow elements from it but cannot modify them. This prevents potential conflicts and ensures clear responsibilities. Additionally, for server-based work sharing, REVIT administrators can use the REVITServer model creation command-line utility to automatically generate local models.
Moreover, REVIT supports information sharing with other software by using compatible file formats or data interfaces.
