Design companies must establish their own BIM design teams by recruiting and developing personnel across the following four key roles:

1. BIM Manager for Design Projects: This role is primarily responsible for overall management of the entire project operation. They develop and ensure adherence to the design schedule, coordinate and manage personnel, and implement BIM standards and data protocols for design projects. Additionally, they review models and related data created by various disciplines, evaluating the application of model data to provide insights and guidance on related issues.
2. Project BIM Manager: The Project BIM Manager assists in creating BIM design plans tailored to the specific engineering project requirements within their area of responsibility. They organize top-down overall design efforts, assign BIM design tasks, monitor and standardize project file statuses on the server, and manage access permissions. They also oversee coordination between disciplines and manage rendering, walkthroughs, and other visualization effects of the complete project model during later stages.
3. BIM Lead for Each Discipline: Based on the BIM design plan set by upper management, these leads develop discipline-specific design plans and allocate tasks within their field. They monitor, standardize, and control the status of design documents, manage discipline-specific design interfaces, collaborate on rendering and walkthrough effects for their models, and provide necessary BIM design guidance within their specialty.
4. Model Designers and Model Application Engineers: Model designers must be proficient in essential BIM design software operations, engineering drawing interpretation, and BIM modeling environment configuration. They should master parametric BIM modeling and property definition/editing. Model application engineers focus on producing drawings, managing model files, detecting clashes between systems, and performing model analyses such as sunlight, ventilation, acoustics, or energy consumption assessments. They also deepen design details, simulate construction processes, and optimize construction plans.
