Beyond the fundamental need for shelter from wind and rain,
what truly defines the essence of architecture?
How do people envision the concept of ‘home’?

This project captures the image of a home crowned with a continuous, undulating mountain-like roof. It seamlessly integrates into the natural terrain, becoming an artificial landscape.

The space beneath the eaves and mountain-shaped roof forms a sequence of interconnected, open, and flowing living areas. Life and sightlines extend toward the ridge, connecting to the natural mountains beyond. Every corner offers a perspective of both life and nature.

As you walk along the gravel path leading into the site, a knowing smile appears upon seeing four distinct levels of mountain-shaped roofs rising organically from the ground. The basement nestles into the natural depression of the terrain.

Guided by the distinctive black wood-grain sloping wall, visitors enter the foyer. This wood-grain wall extends inside, creating a “house within a house” that blurs the boundaries between interior and exterior.
The open space ahead, characterized by various mountain-shaped roofs that extend inward and outward, defines the home’s different activity areas.

The living room soars upward through a mountain-shaped bookshelf, offering both visual delight and tactile experience.
Seated in a recessed nook, residents can enjoy views that extend across the floor and large eaves toward the distant mountains outside, immersing themselves in the ever-changing seasonal mountain scenery.
The inverted mountain-shaped linear lighting fixture defines the dining area, creating a space where home flavors and conversations gather. This activity extends seamlessly to the semi-outdoor baking kiln area.
To emphasize the lightweight, continuous mountain roof, the indoor ceiling extends outward, while the structural columns and walls are intentionally separated to soften the connection between columns and roof.
