The concept of green building has become a prominent topic in the 21st century. In many developed countries, energy conservation principles have been applied for years. Today, green building represents a global objective, with this movement rapidly gaining momentum worldwide. In 2007, China introduced the Management Measures for Green Building Evaluation Labels (Trial), which strongly promote the design and implementation of green buildings. These measures emphasize the role of gardens in land conservation and outdoor environmental improvement. During my internship at the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, I witnessed firsthand the growing national recognition of landscape architecture’s importance in creating environmentally friendly communities. The application of landscape engineering is highlighted repeatedly within the Management Measures for Green Building Evaluation Labels.

BIM technology plays a significant role in green engineering construction by providing essential technical data drawn directly from green building projects. For instance, BIM models and software can simulate and analyze sunlight exposure, lighting conditions, indoor ventilation, and air conditioning airflow, assisting in optimizing energy efficiency.
Environmental protection has increasingly become a global trend. In response, 26 countries and regions have introduced various standards focused on green, energy-efficient, and sustainable building design. China launched green building evaluation criteria in mid-2006 and developed a streamlined information model fully supported by BIM software. This model enables architects to assess project performance anytime and anywhere. The evaluation results help architects make timely design adjustments, compare pros and cons, and continuously align their plans with current environmental standards. One of the key advantages of BIM technology is its ability to provide accurate feedback on building energy consumption early in the design phase, greatly enhancing computer-aided building design.
