The primary role of BIM cost management software is to perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis using data extracted from BIM models. Throughout the process, cost information can be generated based on the construction plan and real-time updates. Popular international BIM cost management tools include BeckTechnology’s DProfiler, Autodesk’s QTO, and Trimble’s Vico. In China, widely used BIM cost management software includes Guanglian Da, Luban, and Sver, each offering distinct features. Below is an overview of commonly used BIM software in China and guidance on selecting the most suitable BIM cost management solution.

Guanglian Da Software is currently the most widely used cost management tool in China. It evolved from earlier Quantity Calculation and Reinforcement Software, merging these functions into a more powerful integrated platform. With ongoing technological advancements, Guanglian Da is continuously updated and optimized. Its simple installation process and user-friendly interface make it accessible to a broad user base. Guanglian Da Company also offers a variety of related products, including Guanglian Da civil engineering calculation, steel bar calculation, MagiCAD integration, and site layout software.
Luban software, though a later entrant, has grown rapidly. Built on a CAD platform, Luban offers several modules such as measurement, cost calculation, and quantity counting software. One notable feature is its ability to recognize CAD graphic files and convert them into 3D models.
Sver software stands out for its ability to directly import 2D drawings. After importing, it can arrange and count steel bars efficiently. However, its reinforcement capabilities are limited, as it cannot actively identify imported components or steel bars.
