Commonly used BIM electromechanical deepening design software, both domestically and internationally, include MagiCAD, Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, Tianzheng Water Supply and Drainage System (T-WT), Tianzheng HVAC System (T-HVAC), Lizheng, Hongye BIMSpace, and the PKPM equipment series.
Among these, Revit MEP holds a leading position in the domestic market for electromechanical deepening design software. Revit MEP is an intelligent design tool that adapts to the user’s workflow. It can detect potential system clashes, ensuring that each system operates independently without interference during project design. MEP engineers utilize it for system modeling and optimization.

Revit’s core operation commands are primarily located on the ribbon panel, which is intuitive and user-friendly. BIMSpace, a plugin developed for Revit MEP, is a secondary development tool tailored for the architectural design industry based on the Revit platform.
BIMSpace is divided into two main components: family library management, resource management, and file management. This section focuses on project creation and classification, including backup and archiving of project files. The other component covers Lejian, performance analysis, water supply and drainage, HVAC, electrical systems, and electromechanical integration.
This software suite provides specialized functions to support BIM electromechanical design. For example, BIMSpace Electrical, after years of development, incorporates a comprehensive range of features for strong electricity, weak electricity, and fire protection design — fulfilling the majority of electrical design requirements.
The image above displays the Revit function panel after installing the Hongye BIMSpace plugin. Compared to the original Revit panel, it adds new commands such as “Strong Electricity,” “Weak Electricity,” “Conduit Bridge,” “Annotation Drawing,” “General Tools,” and “Collaboration,” all introduced by the BIMSpace plugin.
