The Yancheng International Conference Center represents the highest standard of conference and reception services in Yancheng, designed to host national-level events. It forms a key part of the city’s landmark urban renewal alongside the Yancheng Yellow Sea Wetland Museum, Yancheng Crowne Plaza Hotel, Yancheng Wetland Park, and Civic Square.
The center covers approximately 18,000 square meters and includes a grand banquet hall of 3,700 square meters with a ceiling height of 11 meters. Additional facilities include a 580 square meter multifunctional hall, a 580 square meter meeting hall, and several smaller conference rooms.
The project was completed within a challenging one-year timeframe. As an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project, design and construction proceeded simultaneously, placing high demands on coordination. The integrated design system, EPC management, and the owner’s professional oversight ensured the project’s successful and high-quality delivery.
Functionally, the conference center operates as a standalone facility with integrated features. Visually, it shares connections with nearby museums but also presents distinct differences. The hyperbolic shapes at the main entrances of both the museum and conference center metaphorically evoke the wings of cranes, symbolizing Yancheng City’s evolving urban cultural identity.
Inside, the center balances the modern minimalist style of the museum with the refined craftsmanship found in hotels, creating an atmosphere of grandeur and solemnity that captures the elegance of soaring crane feathers.
With the support of a robust design system, architects were able to seamlessly integrate indoor and outdoor design concepts throughout the project. They coordinated consultant feedback, identified issues early, and systematically addressed challenges, ensuring the smooth execution of this complex, large-scale public building.
