The Tangier University Hospital Center is seamlessly integrated into the hilly landscape, echoing the traditional rural architecture of Moroccan villages. As part of the university hospital campus, it will be developed alongside the new medical school and oncology center. This hospital strengthens the overall health park by extending the radiating geometric patterns of the surrounding site features across the hills. The facility aims to enhance patient care conditions while providing an excellent working environment for medical professionals and researchers.

The hospital is designed to accommodate 800 beds across three buildings, all situated on a shared base. The central entrance plaza connects these buildings and guides patients toward the reception area. A traditional Mashrabiya gallery extends from a large sunshade, overlooking the visitor reception hall and opening towards the city. Due to site constraints, the building maintains a compact structure that meets the close proximity and interconnectivity needs essential for university hospitals.
The ground floor integrates logistics, reception areas, and a dedicated emergency facility. The first floor houses surgical units and technical support centers, while the second floor contains laboratories and administrative offices. The top floor comprises three inpatient departments: General Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Maternal and Child Health.

Environmental integration is a core focus of the Tangier City University Hospital Center project. Nestled within a scenic park, the building harmonizes with the Mediterranean surroundings. The structural grid (7.50 meters x 7.50 meters) is carefully selected to encourage modularity, scalability, and flexibility. Load-bearing walls are limited to the robust core of the vertical service shaft, anticipating potential future expansion.
The base features a stone foundation with a horizontal layout, topped by a large canopy. The three buildings stand as distinct volumes, dominating the architecture across two levels. The exterior facade incorporates perforated elements forming a large screen wall, accented by multicolored window frames in patient rooms. Throughout the day, the building’s facade displays varying colors and reflections, creating dynamic visual effects.
