The “Design and Delivery Standards for Building Information Modeling” has been officially approved as a national standard, designated as GB/T 51301-2018, and will come into effect on June 1, 2019. This standard is publicly accessible on the Ministry’s official website (www.mohurd.gov.cn) and is published by China Construction Industry Press under the organization of the Standard Quota Research Institute of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.

Overview of the Latest Version of the BIM Design Delivery Standard
In accordance with the Ministry’s “Notice on Issuing the Plan for Formulating and Revising Engineering Construction Standards in 2012” (Jian Biao No. AI-BT-SC0_5), the standard development team conducted extensive research and surveys. They carefully reviewed practical experiences, referenced relevant international and advanced foreign standards, and gathered broad feedback to formulate this standard.
General Explanation
1.0.1 This standard was established to standardize the design and delivery processes of building information models and to improve BIM application levels.
1.0.2 It applies to the use of building information modeling in the creation and delivery of design information within architectural engineering, as well as the exchange of information between and among project participants.
1.0.3 Besides this standard, the design and delivery of building information models must also comply with other relevant national standards.
