BIM Architecture: Integrating Sunlight, Wind, and Plants in UC House by Taller de Arquitectura y Diseño, Mexico

Casa Uc is situated in Michoacán, a suburb of Morelia, a city in southern Mexico. This residential project, designed by Daniela Bucio Sistos, aims to create seamless and almost imperceptible transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Every internal space within this home maintains direct contact with its surrounding microenvironment.

Casa Uc is designed to be a truly livable home. As you move through its spaces, the shifts in architectural textures and proportions prevent visual monotony and foster a deeper emotional connection with its occupants, resulting in a tranquil and contemplative environment.

Daniela’s vision was to create a near-monochromatic residence, rich in texture variations. As natural light filters through different sections, the house reveals distinct personalities throughout the day.

The exterior of Casa Uc is deliberately simple. The main entrance is subtly integrated at the end of a textured partition wall that encloses the building.

Upon entering and descending the entrance ramp, visitors encounter the main foyer, featuring phoenix wood finishes and a prominent circular elevated ceiling at its center.

From the side of the foyer, two large circular openings are visible—one leads to the library, while the other marks the end of the terrace, connecting to the second bedroom.

The circular foyer serves as the central axis of the residence, symbolically acting as the origin point for the radiating floor pattern that extends throughout the entire home.

The house includes four bedrooms, a library, kitchen, dining room, terrace, living room, and an orchard.

The residence faces a row of cypress trees located beyond a large ramp that connects the living room to the garden. The front and side walls are enclosed to ensure privacy and sound insulation.
