Anman: Delivering the Ultimate Experience to the World
It has been said that wherever you find an Anman Hotel, a unique and breathtaking scene awaits.
Imagine a swimming pool perched on billion-year-old rocks, allowing guests to sleep beneath the Milky Way in the desert. Or a temple-like hotel beside Borobudur, designed for guests to witness the world’s most stunning sunrise the moment they awaken. Adrian Zecha, the visionary founder of Anman, has left the world a legacy of cultural masterpieces infused with deep emotion.

Far from superficial luxury or restlessness, Anman’s global hotel group chooses locations that captivate and inspire. Each site breaks conventional boundaries, shining a spotlight on unexpected places. With a distinct vision, Anman offers diverse and unparalleled life experiences worldwide.
Olivier Jolivet, CEO of Anman, puts it eloquently: “Luxury isn’t about money; elegance is rooted in knowledge. Anman belongs to the realm of elegance, and we seek guests who appreciate its true meaning.”

After decades in Shanghai, the newest Anman hotel, also situated in a global fashion capital, takes a different approach than its Tokyo counterpart. Instead of an urban oasis, it preserves ancient houses and trees, collaborating with architectural master Kerry Hill to create a cherished heritage site right in Shanghai.

A Rebirth Spanning 700 Kilometers
Yangyun Anman, the world’s largest and China’s fourth Anman hotel, continues the brand’s hallmark “secluded” style in its location. More than a decade ago, amid a massive cultural preservation project, a charity initiative relocated ancient houses along a 700-kilometer stretch, bringing new life to camphor trees and historic buildings in Qizhong village.

Situated in the rare, pristine environment of Qizhong near Shanghai, this area has become a spiritual refuge for entrepreneurs and artists alike. With abundant natural ecology and rich cultural heritage, it hosts the prestigious ATP Masters tournament annually, earning it the nickname “Shanghai’s Wimbledon,” further elevating the locale’s fame.

The Anman Hotel here respects and preserves ancient architecture while embracing traditional Chinese culture, embodying Anman’s signature “hidden” lifestyle. This transformation elevated the land’s value and infused it with a humanistic spirit, creating a tranquil urban sanctuary within Shanghai.

The ancient mansion and camphor trees form the soul of Yangyun Anman.
Kerry Hill employed modern techniques to breathe new life into this historic village. Through innovative conservation methods, every tree was carefully preserved, and the ancient houses were meticulously reconstructed. Viewing the design from a contemporary perspective, he reinterpreted the wisdom of traditional Gan-style architecture, creatively merging modern Eastern design elements to embody the concept of “home” in true Anman style — blending comfort with a harmonious fusion of old and new.

Yangyun Anman ranks among the largest relocation and restoration projects in Chinese history, driven by a heartfelt mission: to ensure that five hundred years from now, future generations can still admire this exquisite ancient mansion and experience the beauty of Chinese architectural heritage.
A Hidden Realm: The Essence of Art

Following worldwide acclaim, Yangyun Anman and Yangyun Anman · Courtyard introduced new offerings at the Yangyun International Community. These projects uphold Anman’s artistic spirit and cultural depth, marking the final “quiet paradise” crafted by architectural master Kerry Hill for Shanghai.

From the landscapes to the architecture, the space is infused with inspiration and life’s nourishment.
Occasionally, flocks of gulls and herons soar from the natural wetlands, weaving into a mesmerizing scene of clear waters, lush forests, and thriving vegetation — the area’s signature landscape. Encircled by dense camphor groves and tranquil water features, this space fosters creativity and reflection.

The interior design perfectly echoes Anman’s spirit. Utilizing modern techniques to capture Eastern charm, the ethereal walls, serene courtyards, delicate latticework, and poetic interplay of light and shadow embody Kerry Hill’s philosophy: simplicity above all. The result is an elegant, minimalist style free of unnecessary complexity.

Yangyun Village, blessed with harmonious wind and water, offers a peaceful retreat for reflection and a slower pace of life. Visitors can momentarily escape the city’s chaos, avoid crowds, immerse themselves in natural beauty, and embrace traditional culture to nurture the soul—a truly delightful experience.
