The ‘Forest House’ is located in the small town of Tu Son, Vietnam, on a narrow site divided into 5×15 meter plots. This area is experiencing rapid industrialization and urban development, bringing challenges such as dust, traffic noise, and environmental impacts from nearby industrial zones.
This residence was designed for a couple and their teenage children. The main facade faces west and includes three bedrooms with bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, garage, storage room, entertainment room, worship room, and laundry room. The owners desired a home that enhances their quality of life.

To address the challenges, the design incorporates two key spaces within the house. The first serves as the main entrance, acting as a buffer zone that isolates dust and smoke. Its architectural form also prevents direct natural light from entering.
The second space, located at the center of the residence, plays a vital role in reconnecting the home with nature. It features natural elements such as trees, sunlight, wind, and rain, creating a living environment that balances indoor and outdoor experiences.

The central staircase and lobby connect all areas of the home. Walking through this space creates the sensation of moving among trees.
A garden opens into the central space, linking the living room, kitchen, and dining area. The bedrooms also benefit from natural light, trees, and ventilation, allowing the owners to enjoy nature from any room in the house.

Built within its unique context, the ‘Forest House’ addresses the challenges posed by rapid urbanization and industrial pollution. Through this project, the owners regain a natural living environment that significantly improves their lifestyle.
