A vast grassland defines the upper boundary of the vineyard, where this standalone cottage is nestled. The entrance, foyer, and courtyard seamlessly connect to create a harmonious flow. The orientation towards the vineyard and Lake Zurich establishes the main axis of the building, which also serves as the foundation for its symmetrical design. The new residence measures 24 by 20 meters, with each side of the structure partially recessed to relate thoughtfully to its surrounding environment.

The largest opening of the building faces the vineyard and Lake Zurich. A three-meter-deep corridor extends into the heart of the residence, forming a semi-open courtyard. At its center, a tree is planted, encircled by a sunken outdoor lounge area. This courtyard design allows for a symmetrical arrangement of the reception rooms, offering guests an immediate sense of the home’s spacious depth upon entry.

The grand lobby serves as the heart of the home and the primary living space for the family. From here, two circular pathways lead to the second floor and the basement respectively, providing access to most of the key rooms while encouraging leisurely exploration throughout the house.

The exterior walls are finished with simple plaster, showcasing the raw material in a natural, understated manner. The framework consists of finely crafted fiberglass-reinforced concrete combined with soil components. Uniform window modules are installed across different sections of the façade. The two-stage sliding windows feature an ultra-thin glass frame design, allowing the glass panels to fully retract into the wall cavity within the sheltered parts of the home.
