This project involves renovating a 15-year-old house. After a thorough inspection, the designer chose to retain the original structure and build the new design upon the existing, functional elements. To enhance daily living space, a second floor was added, which also functions as a spacious terrace.

This renovation meets the owner’s needs while preserving much of the original structure, which simplifies the permit process. The existing building features a low-rise mezzanine. The new design emphasizes contrasting mezzanine levels, highlighting the variation in height as a key architectural element.

The building’s width allows the architects to employ continuous vertical structures. The design maximizes natural light from skylights, creating a harmonious space that balances energy and calm. Sunlight reaches corridors, buffer zones, and bedrooms, while natural elements flow from outside into the interior, adding aesthetic balance and refreshing daily living.
