Wooden House 2.0, designed by Paris-based Marchi Architects, is nestled in the dense coniferous oak forest of Long Island, New York. This concrete residence gently integrates with the gently sloping terrain, camouflaged by the surrounding trees. Inside, warm wooden materials and rhythmic structural elements create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The design features a radial layout with open interior planes and interconnected spaces, fostering a seamless flow throughout the home.

The exterior of Wooden House 2.0 showcases a distinctive sweeping geometric form that harmonizes with the forest environment. The facade is clad in vertical wooden slats combined with smooth concrete, honoring the natural landscape. Evenly spaced French windows punctuate the facade, framing views of the surrounding Long Island forest and enhancing the connection between indoors and outdoors.

The home’s radial layout centers around a concealed outdoor courtyard, enclosed by the indoor living spaces. The facade facing this courtyard is fully glazed, effectively blurring the boundary between interior and exterior. Wooden House 2.0 explores symmetry, angles, and material textures, with careful attention to natural light and sightlines.
