


This private residence project involved leveling, redesigning, and reconstructing the original building. The architect made use of the site’s existing L-shaped footprint to create a main residential building, complemented by a separate tea house positioned alongside it.

During discussions, the owner expressed a strong desire to maintain their family’s legacy on this land. While a residential building can often outlast its occupants, introducing new spatial elements can help extend the home’s relevance and comfort for future generations.


The architect incorporated classic design techniques from the past into the new residence. This approach not only honors the passage of time but also allows the home to embody resilience and serenity, creating a true sanctuary for its inhabitants.
