This unique restaurant is dedicated to flowers. At the entrance, soft pink petals hang from the ceiling, while yellow and green curtains adorn the windows, creating a natural blend of colors that transition beautifully from afar to near.

Encountering Petals Restaurant is situated on the second floor of Beijing Galaxy SOHO, overlooking the street. With plans to expand its space, the owner wanted to maintain the floral theme while enhancing the overall environment by adding new areas.

SODA Architects designed the new space to seamlessly continue the existing environment, using “petals” as the core design element. These petals appear in various forms throughout the space, crafting a colorful and inviting atmosphere. The petal curtain, a custom feature, captures the delicate beauty of falling flowers and the essence of spring.

▲ Space generation
The renovated area features pink curtains, grass-green leather sofas, and a white terrazzo floor, forming the visual focal point. Mirrored walls and curved glass surfaces reflect the space, making it dynamic and elegant. The original arched corridor visually extends through these mirrors, creating a tunnel that connects the old and new sections.

The ceiling features petal-shaped designs that mirror the white terrazzo floor, creating the impression of petals scattered naturally across the ground. This clever design divides the space into different dining areas. The large-scale petal installation transforms the relationship between the floral theme and the guests, inviting visitors to enjoy a relaxing dining experience amidst a floral world that helps ease everyday stress.
▲ Space night view
The curved projection wall at the entrance serves as the largest “petal” in the space. It features hollowed-out petals adorned with soft lighting. Day and night atmospheres are reflected by projecting two different colors of falling flower images onto the wall. This design harmonizes with the layered flower curtains inside, creating a serene and peaceful ambiance.
