This project combines residential and office spaces, nestled in the stunning natural landscape of Youmei (BIM training). This location is recognized as one of Japan’s top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots. The building’s exterior features natural stone foundations, seamlessly blending with the surrounding environment.

Inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics that emphasize natural materials, the design enhances the interior with flat, uncluttered spaces. The boundary between indoors and outdoors is intentionally blurred, creating a sense of connection and depth. This design approach fosters a high-quality environment for both living and working, offering a seamless and continuous experience.

The doma is a tiled area where people can step on while putting on shoes. It features a double-height ceiling that opens inward to a private courtyard. A water feature reflects the subtle seasonal changes in vegetation, enhancing the sense of time with the gentle sound of water. As the ceiling height increases, the space opens more towards the outdoors, allowing occupants to connect with nature and fully immerse themselves in the surrounding landscape.

My hope is that this residential-office complex reconnects us with the natural wisdom passed down through generations, while embodying the spirit and culture of BIM engineers. It also serves as a quiet reflection on life.
